Off to a slow start!

Well all the summer of taking care of my little flock is about to pay off. This week they have started laying. So far we have gotten 4 eggs, which is not a huge amount but I'm so happy. Then I read an article on raising chickens the other day, and it said that for a family 3-4 chickens are enough. When my chickens start laying regularly I could have up to 15 eggs a day, that is an average of 105 eggs a week! What the heck am I going to do with all them eggs. I think I might be having some chicken and dumplings soon. Or be making a bunch of neighbors happy with free eggs. We will see when they all start laying.
On the gardening front most of my pot garden has not done to well... I do however have a ton of tomatoes if they will just ripen already.

WOW that's some crazy possibility for eggs there. It would be awesome to just get 4 or 5 a day I think! I hope it works out well. How many chickens do you have? I miss your blogs! I wish you weren't so dang busy!
