"Would you mind if I called you Darcey?"
"Not at all, my mom does all the time."
"Funny how you two look so much alike!"
I guess. I've never really given it much thought. I mean, I know that we have similarities. We should we have the same parents and all. But every time I run into someone that knows her, it's the same thing. It's not bad, but after hearing it, I generally dissect my face in the mirror, trying to see exactly what they are seeing. I see my crazy brown eyes... my extra large mouth... my nose. What parts of this genetic pool did we both inherit? Crazy genetics... My girls won't ever get that. Neither will my boys. They are definitely on the opposite sides of those pools. I think it's awesome that our kids are all even like that, that neither Kenneth or My genes were so dominant that we don't have kids that resemble us. The moral of all this, is I love family resemblances I love hearing that I'm built like so and so, or I have so and so's eyes. I love trying to find the family resemblance.

I've never really thought about the similarities in my family. I certainly would never be mistaken for my sister. My sister is very cute and little and me, not so much.
Well, my kids all look like they were cut from the same cookie dough with very similar cookie cutters. I've wondered if Nathan and I look more alike than we thought we did-- we seem to have similar genes.
