So for the past... well since January I've had this goal of becoming a runner. It hasn't been easy at all... at all! I've never really ran anywhere, and when I did I was extremely winded within seconds. But gradually over the last few weeks my body is getting used to it. And gradually I've gone further and further. But some days its so hard to get motivated. So I'm very very glad my friend Michelle over at Clutter and Chaos started a Walk with Me Challenge. It's actually very good timing because in my YWs we've challenged the girls as a group to walk from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City, in preparation to go on Trek (a walk with handcarts recreating the pioneers walk to settle in Salt Lake City) this summer. So thanks to Michelle for your inspiration. And you will notice my count down to the right of the screen.
I also have to say running is a pretty cheep way to get in shape. You just need good shoes, and somewhere to run, and preferably good weather. Well for me there's one more necessity and I didn't even know what a difference it would make until this week. You see from the time I was 15 I was cursed/blessed with the D size. There has been thinner times when I've gone down a cup, but on average I've been a D. Normally this isn't an issue. I could never wear a small size shirt, cuz it would gap or look stretched. But on to how this affects me as a runner. When your chest is floppy and you run... it is very floppy.... and it causes some crazy flopping going on..... so a good sports bra can make all the difference. This past weekend I got a more supportive sports bra, and I feel like a new woman when I run, and don't have the constant desire to lean forward but yet run upright. So all is good in my trying to be a runner running world... I'm up to 3.5 miles!
