Wish me luck. Today I'm going to attempt to make a Birthday Cake. Her Birthday isn't until Sunday, but I thought I should give myself some time, in case I make a horrible mess of it. Of course I've made cakes. It's the decorating part I'm unsure of. But I'm going to try. I say it every year but I really can't believe it's that time again. This year I get a 5 year old and a 15 year old. I'm still in shock about it. And lucky Kasey gets to share her Birthday with Easter this year. She is very excited that Easter is the same day. It's going to be a busy day, that's for sure. So off I go... to clean a house... bake a cake... wrap some presents... make sure we are ready for the Easter Bunny... and Enjoy a lovely weekend (even though we may get snow....Boooooooo!)

What is your kid's cake gonna have on it? I always have to make my own birthday cakes so I'm used to it. This year I did a Cinderella one. It was easy! All I did is put white icing all over the cake and plop a Cinderella candle in the middle of it and then I found these toy cinderella mini frisbees at the 99 cent store so I put them on the sides. It didn't look too bad! I'm sure I could have made a more professional looking cake, but I wanted it to be a fun cake that looked like it was for a kid, not an adult looking boring old fart cake.

Have fun!

I always freeze the cake first, then try to frost it. That way you don't get crumbs in the frosting, and it all goes together much easier

Just freeze it before you frost it. Makes it a heckuva lot easier. Good luck! We'll need to see pictures you know. =)

Oh, just noticed michelle said that already. Well, you better believe it's good advice then! =)

Rhayn's best friend shares her b-day with Easter this year.

I never make a cake. Costco cakes are less the $20 and hassle free, whilst tasting so very good.
