Santa Threats
You better watch out you better not cry you better not pout I'm telling you why...I'm guilty of using this technique the Santa Claus is coming to town and you better be good trick... my thoughts are... does it really work? I mean really, it's like saying your going to throw all their toys away. Clearly only the brave few really go there. We all know how much toys cost, they are pretty expensive for molded plastic, so unless we already hate the toys( like the polly pockets that I chucked last week because some little child wouldn't pick them up, and hey I'm moving, and have been throwing things away left and right).... we're probably not going to make good on that threat. So back to the original topic... would you ever... could you ever not let Santa fill your children's stockings on Christmas? I don't think I could. I know that it would break my little heart to see them so disappointed on Christmas morning. But let me tell you a little story about a 6 year old girl that was very very naughty after Christmas morning because she thought she was all in the clear... Santa came back... and took everything back. I... I mean she was very good after that. So to some degree the threats as unrealistic as they are, can be a nice reminder during the holiday season to be on your best behavior, regardless of how excited you are. Remember he sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when your awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake!

...so was that little girl? Couldn't be you, right?
If/when my kids decide there is no Santa...then Santa will stop coming to them. If that means that only two of the five stockings get filled, then so be it. Mine will always be filled because I believe, AND I'm good...and I buy the presents :)
